June 11-12, 2011:  New Hope Australian Shepherd Club show in College Station, TX:  Bliss took a 5 point major, and 2 reserves to majors!  McKenna did an awesome job handling Bliss & one of the judges even said she wanted to "steal her" to help her handle German Shepherds!  Congratulations, team McKenna and Bliss!

Skylar, Briarbrook Reach For The Sky, took 4th Place at the USASA Nationals in the 12-18 month class and 4th Place in the 15-18 month Puppy Sweeps!  What an accomplishment!  Thanks Kimber for all of your hard work.  We look forward to Skylar's return after Nationals!

The Denton Dog Show was a red ribbon weekend for us.  That is, we were 2nd place everytime we entered the ring!  Oh well, if it were easy, a Championship title wouldn't mean much.  And it's always good experience and we never stop learning!

On Easter weekend, we attended the Shreveport Dog Show.  On Friday, McKenna won Best Junior!  She also handled Tucker to Reserve Winner's Dog to a major.  On Monday, Bliss took Winner's Bitch to bring her another step closer to her championship!

Skylar was Reserve Winner's Dog April 7th at the Australian Shepherd Specialty show in Wichita, Kansas.  That is quite an accomplishment considering the number of Aussies entered and his young age!  Thanks again, Kimber!  We miss Skylar and can't wait for him to come home after Nationals!

McKenna had an awesome weekend at the Faith City Kennel Club dog show in Fort Worth, March 26-27.  On Sunday, McKenna & Bliss took a 4 point major win over several professional handlers and many owner handlers!  She was the only 13 year old showing...all the others were adults...but you could tell it didn't make her nervous at all!  She showed with such confidence and showed how very far she has come in her handling!  Tucker also went Reserve Winner's Dog to a major win that day!  What a great show for us!  I'm very proud of McKenna!

Skylar has been on the road with Kimber Shields learning the ropes of the showring and getting over his reluctance to allow the judges to examine him.  Looks like he's past all of that!  He took Reserve Winner's Dog on March 19th to a major at the Kansas City, MO show.   On April 2nd, he took Winner's Dog for his first AKC point.  Kimber reports that he now gets so excited to go into the ring that he can hardly contain himself ringside!  Thanks, Kimber for your excellent handling and training!

Tucker took Reserve Winner's Dog in the Faith City Kennel Club dog show in Wichita Falls on March 6th.  Tucker is showing well & McKenna is doing a great job of showing him!  We look forward to our next show in Fort Worth, March 26-27.

2011 began with our toughest show of the year!  The Aussie specialty in Glen Rose, TX hosted approximately 100 Australian Shepherds.  While I feel we did pretty well at the show, we didn't achieve any points towards championships.  What we did achieve, is a great weekend with plenty of  experience for McKenna and we enjoyed seeing all of the nice Aussies that came to the show!
